Our ENSEMBLES
The Westchester Children’s Chorus performing ensembles rehearse weekly on Tuesdays in Yorktown Heights (Grades 1-5 ONLY) and on Thursdays at Manhattanville University (Grades 1-12) from September through May, and observe the Harrison and Yorktown Heights School District Holiday Calendar.

manhattanville ENSEMBLES
CRESCENDO
Directed by Hannah Geiling
A choir for students in grades 1-2. Crescendo students will have a slightly shorter rehearsal and will focus on developing the skills necessary to be successful in the chorus!
Rehearses Thursdays from 4:30 - 5:15 pm
CANTUS
Directed by Sophia Miller
Cantus is an ensemble for treble/unchanged voices in grades 3–5. Singers build foundational choral skills through game songs, canons, rounds, beginning score study, and multi-part repertoire. Singers should demonstrate a healthy head tone and will participate in a blend and balance exercise during auditions.

CANTABILE
Directed by Jenn Giustino
Cantabile is an ensemble for treble/unchanged voices in grades 6–8. Singers develop strong choral and rehearsal skills through sight-singing, score study, and multi-part repertoire. Singers should demonstrate a healthy head tone and will participate in a blend and balance exercise during auditions.

CAMBIARE
Directed by Jonathan Pereira
Cambiare is an ensemble for male-identifying singers and changing voices in grades 6 and up. Singers develop vocal technique, musicianship, sight-singing, and music literacy through diverse repertoire in a variety of styles and languages. Singers explore mulit-part repertoire while building confidence and performance skills.

CHORALE
Directed by Amanda Gundling
Chorale is an advanced ensemble for treble singers in grades 9–12. Singers develop advanced vocal technique, sight-singing, music theory, score study, and part independence through challenging multi-part repertoire. Singers should demonstrate confident use of head/falsetto and chest voice and a strong foundation in choral musicianship.

CHAMBER
Directed by Amanda Gundling
Chamber Ensemble is an auditioned ensemble for highly motivated singers in grades 8–12 who are also enrolled in Cantabile, Cambiare, or Chorale. Singers explore advanced, primarily a cappella repertoire with an emphasis on musical independence, stylistic interpretation, and refined ensemble singing. Members are expected to arrive prepared, demonstrate confident independent part-singing and listening skills, and contribute to a high level of musical artistry.

CONTEMPORARY
Contemporary Vocal Ensemble is an auditioned ensemble for singers in grades 7–12 interested in contemporary vocal performance. Singers must already be enrolled in Cantabile, Cambiare, or Chorale.
Contemporary Ensemble explores pop, R&B, rock, soul, indie, and contemporary a cappella while developing skills in vocal production, harmonization, microphone technique, rhythmic style, improvisation, and collaborative musicianship. Singers build the versatility and confidence to perform contemporary repertoire with authenticity and artistry.
