APPRENTICE with WCChorus!

The Westchester Children’s Chorus invites music educators, undergraduate and graduate music or arts management students, and collaborative pianists to apply for our Apprenticeship Program.

Apprentices gain hands-on experience alongside our team of professional music educators, arts administrators, conductors, and collaborative pianists. Opportunities may include choral conducting and rehearsal observation, music education, arts administration and nonprofit management, collaborative piano, and community engagement.

Our NYS-certified conducting staff can supervise and document observation, internship, apprenticeship, and community service hours, while our administrative and collaborative piano teams provide mentorship and practical experience in their respective fields.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving young singers across multiple ensembles, WCChorus offers apprentices a unique opportunity to experience both the artistic and organizational sides of a thriving community arts organization.

Depending on your interests and experience, we will build an apprenticeship opportunity here at the Westchester Children’s Chorus that includes, but is not limited to:

  • Rehearsal Observation

  • Score Study

  • Conducting Practice & Technical Study 

  • Non-profit Arts Administration

  • Collaborative Piano Work

  • To apply, send an application, resume, and personal statement (summarizing why you’d like to apprentice with WCChorus) to info@wcchorus.org.

  • Must be available Thursdays from 3:45 - 6:00 pm at Manhattanville University or Tuesdays from 4:15 - 6:00 pm in Yorktown Heights

  • A mandatory orientation will take place at the beginning of the semester.
