from 4:00 - 6:00pm
Calling all singers ages 7 - 17!
The Westchester Children’s Chorus auditions new members three times per year (September, January, and May).
Please complete the audition request form below. Your specific time will be emailed separately.
We will ask for the name and email address of a teacher and send them an online recommendation form.
All students should prepare a short selection of their choice (approximately 16 bars or 30 seconds). Your selection will be sung a cappella (without piano accompaniment).
Students may choose to sing a song from their school choir, a NYSSMA solo, a folk song or musical theater selection. In order to show off the best range of the singer, we advise you avoid pop tunes.
Students may be asked to vocalize (sing a few warm-ups), hold their part against another singer and sight read a small musical passage, in order to asses their vocal abilities and place the student in the appropriate ensemble based on skill and age.
Please arrive for your audition 15 minutes prior to your confirmed time
Auditions are held at Larchmont Avenue Church, 60 Forest Park Ave., Larchmont, NY 10538.
We have three ensembles grouped by age and ability that range from grades 2 - 12. Read more about them here.
All three ensembles rehearses weekly on Thursdays from 4:00 - 5:30 PM in Larchmont from September through May with a break over the winter holiday.
We have 2 major concerts each year in December and May. In addition, we are often invited to perform at community events or as guests on other concerts.
Scholarships are available on a need-basis. It is a high priority that no student be turned away for financial reasons!
Joining the WCChorus is a commitment similar to that of a sports team. We cover a lot of material at each rehearsal, and each week builds upon the material covered the previous week. For this reason, students are allowed no more than 3 absences per semester.
The Westchester Children’s Chorus is a non-religious organization and welcomes singers of any race, color, national or ethnic origin, religious affiliation, and gender identification.
If you have any additional questions, don’t hesitate to contact us.
